I have been trying to keep 2 blogs uptodate - this one and my AndMoreBags blog - and have failed miserably. So I decided to combine the two and concentrate on a single blog for all of my creations, regardless of medium! All of the posts/comments here have been imported into my new one.

Get Well Card

Today I have a Get Well card to share with you. This Bitty Bug stamp set is one of my favorites to use on cards for those feeling a bit (or a lot) under the weather! And I bummed out that it is now going to be retired. That's good news for you though as you can now purchase it for 25% off.

The cardstock and designer paper is from the Toodle Loo paper collection. Copics were used to color the image. And the image was stamped and matted on die cuts from Nestabilities Large Labels.

Wedding Blog Hop

Paperwings is once again hosting a blog hop! The theme for this month is Wedding Cards. You will find a great variety of designs from the participants so be sure to check them all out (the list of participants is at the end of this post.)

White, pink, and black are the colors for my Wedding Card! I used our Marvelous Mottos stamp set to congratulate the bride and groom! The stamp is enhanced with pink Copic Markers and is nestled inside 2 layers of Nestabilities. And notice the brads in the 4 corners of the Nestabilities label too!

And here is view of the full card. Notice how the layered Nestabilities are popped up using foam tape giving it a bit of dimension.

Popup Notecards

Here is a new twist on Popup Cards - popup 3 x 3 notecards! The popup brace is made just like you make them for A2 cards but on a smaller scale!

I first stamped "Happy Easter" from Trendy Greetings on a circle and then layered it on 2 layers of scalloped circles. The top circle also has a gem and Turquoise Scrappers Floss!

Then I used Joy of Easter stamp set for the popups in the 3x3 notecards. Here are a couple of my favorites: the lamb and the chick in the jar!

Notice that I added the coordinating Catelynne designer paper to the inside of the white cardstock to better "pop" the pop-up !

I used our Copic Markers for the coloring! I continue to fall in love with how well they color and blend! I still have a long ways to go in being proficient with them, but it's a start!

March Blog Hop - Easter

What a wonderful today! The sun was out - a welcome site after a week of rain and grey skies. It was warm - well into the 50's! Spring is indeed on its way! There is only a hint of the snowy winter that we have had - just a bit of snow left in protected areas. And best of all, I got to spend the day with my dear sister!

It is time once again for another blog hop with friends and fellow Angel Company demonstrators. The theme for this months blog hop is Easter.

I created another gatefold card using the Joy of Easter stamp, Copics, and the Catelynne paper collection from The Angel Company. The Joy of Easter stamp set is certainly one of my favorites these days!

Carrot Car and Mini Easter Basket!

It is a grey, cloudy, dreary day! At least it isn't snowing! But spring is just around the corner and I'm in "springy" mood today. So it is time for some colorful Easter creations.

This gatefold card is easy to score on the Scor-Pal (a great half price item for a hostess, too). Just find the 2 dots on the Scor-Pal ruler and you have the perfect markings for a gatefold card!

I have also been playing with my copics (another great 1/2 price item) and am just delighted with how the "carrot car" from the Joy of Easter stamp set turned out. I have lots of fun experimenting with the copic markers to see how they turn out. And besides, this little duck and the carrot car is just the cutest thing around!

Also from the Joy of Easter stamp set, is this adorable little chick in the jar. It is a perfect fit for this Mini Easter Basket that I found on Diana's Designs, a fellow TAC demonstrator! Copics are the coloring medium on this too!

Time for Some Green!

On another snowy afternoon in the Midwest, the Paperwings Angel Blog Hop was a welcome reprieve from the seemingly endless winter. The theme - Green! So whether it be an card for St. Patrick's day or one for spring you are sure to enjoy them all.

For my card I used the Hip Hop Collection, Labels Large Nestabilities, and Trendy Greetings. It is a simple card - can you tell I ran out of time and went the card-in-less-10minutes route? But I do love these little frogs in Hip Hop! For the background I used the same Trendy Greeting stamp, stamped off on a piece of scratch paper and then stamped the cardstock for a lighter impression.

Reusable Snack Bags with Angel Wings ...

Some of you may have seen (or even own) my Reusable Snack Bags featured in my AndMoreBags ETSY site. Today, I am super excited to announce that I have designed a Reusable Snack Bag that combines both my ink and rubber passion with my fabric and thread passion!

Not only are these bags functional (i.e. carry your snacks) but you can also use them to support your business! Just think of the conversations they will start around the lunch table or at school/sports activities. Give one to those special customers and hostesses! You can even use them at your classes/workshops - use them for snacks or use them to hold those small embellishments or pieces of paper for each attendee. The possibilities are endless!

The outer fabric is 100% cotton and is stamped with one of our Palette Inks using stamps from The Angel Company. The inner fabric is water resistant nylon. A strip of velcro extends across the entire opening. This secures the opening, as well as, keeps your goodies inside! And, all seams are enclosed!

Wipe out the inside with a damp cloth. You can also wash on a gentle cycle and air dry.

The snack bags measure approx. 7 x 4 1/4" with an opening of 6 1/4".

Valentines Blog Hop!

Tonight is the beginning of another blog hop with fellow Angels. The theme this time around is Valenetines! Hard to believe, but it is just around the corner!

The three projects that I did all use our Uptown Girl coordinated papers, Date Disks, and two of our stamps from the Stamp Spree Promotion - Little Darlins and Furry Friends. Scrappers floss, of course, also embellishes the projects.

Both of the candy boxes use acetate. I used the Cricut to cut the candy box with the heart - love that die cut machine!! The clear acetate box was inspired by this tutorial! And the 3 x 3 notecard - well, it is a 3 x 3 notecard - no more, no less!

Both the owls and the puppy dog were colored with Copics. I'm still learning how to use them but really do like them!

Sneak Peak - New Level A Hostess Stamp

This adorable hummingbird is from the 2010 Serendipity Level A Hostess Set titled Swirled Spring Life. In addition to the hummingbird the set also includes a bird, a bumblebee, and a flower! You'll be able to start ordering from this new publication on February 1.

To create this cute 3 x 3 notecard, I selected the Miss Moxie paper collection and used paper piecing on the bird's body, tale and wings. After that I added some brads and then used foam tape when adhering it to the rest of the card to make it standout a bit. Quick, easy, cute!

Most of the packages I send out to my ETSY buyers include a card of some kind thanking the customer for their business. This is a new 3 x 3 notecard design that I'm playing around with for future packages.

The stamps, Furry Friends, are from our Stamp Spree Promtion. The stamp is matted with paper from the Amberly Grace collection. Copics were used for coloriong. And, of course, I used scrappers floss too!

Ceramic Tiles

There's never a dull moment around here as I dig into yet one more way of creating things. I'm convinced I will be a multi-crafter forever. I've already told the kids that when they take me to the funny farm they need to send craft supplies too!! One of my latest endeavors has been working with ceramic tile and paper and here is what I've come up with!

The tiles are those shiny white tiles that you can get at any home improvement store! The paper in the first set of coasters is from More Mimi and the second set features Mia's Cottage! I have a few more partially done using not only scrapbook paper, but also pictures from books. I will be listing them on my RitasCreations ETSY site in a few days. I'm starting to look at paper - new and old - in a much different light now that I've discovered ceramic tiles!

I have found more than a few ways to work with ceramic tile and have yet to decide on a favorite technique. So here are some of the resources that I have found as I venture down this creative path!

Happy New Year everyone! 2009, along with this decade, is winding down and another year (and decade) is about to begin. Many blessings and much goodness to all of you!

This year I am sending out New Year's cards - actually I ran out of time to send out Christmas cards so this was my fall back plan! They are done and tomorrow I will take them to the post office!

I used the Scor-Pal to emboss 3 lines at the top and the bottom of the card. They are a little hard to see in the photo but the best place to look is the top left and bottom right in the photo below. The copic colored kitty is from Winter Flurries - love this set. The 2010 is stamped using Simple-Bet and the inside of the card is stamped with "Happy New Year" from Trendy Greetings!

Lavender Sachets plus Gift Card

I designed these Lavender Sachets for a membership drive of a local Rubber Stamping Club. The membership drive is over so I can now post them here!

The muslin bags and gift card are stamped with Violette Palette Ink using the Watercolor Plants Stamp Set. The "for you" sentiment on the card is from my often used Tag Tidbits Stamp Set.

Use these sachets to freshen up the sweater, coat, hat, or mitten drawers - even that gym bag can benefit from a lavender sachet! Lavender also has calming effects so use at night, when you have a headache, or when you are stressed!

All I Want for Christms...

Once again good fortune has come my way in the form of winning another contest for The Angel Company!. The theme of this particular contest was "All I Want for Christmas.'

I created a paper Tooth Fairy Pillow from our Reece Soar With It Collection. Once I cut out a front and back, I brushed a coat of Modge Podge over each. When the paper dried, I sewed it together leaving a small opening for stuffing. For the stuffing I recycled some of those pesky plastic bags that seem to accumulate way too fast. I sewed the opening shut. I used the Crop-A-Dile to punch two holes in the top of the tooth for the Reece Ribbon so the tooth could be hung up!

Then, on the front I constructed a pocket with a flap for the safe keeping of the tooth and ultimately the goodie (a.k.a. money) from the Tooth Fairy. A felt flower, button, and scrappers floss embellish the pocket flap!

I printed out the letter to the Tooth Fairy, matted it, and adhered it to the pocket.

And on the bottom of the right "root", I added another tag that reads "All I Want For Christmas is My Two Front Teeth!"

It was a fun project to do. And now I get to go shopping for free stamps!!

Diecut Snowmen with Lilly Anna

I am so excited about these snowmen and absolutely love the collection all done up in the greens and blues from the Lilly Anna paper collection!

This afternoon I finally got in some good playing time with my new Gypsy!! And as you can tell, I went crazy making snowmen - 10 to be exact!.

These cute snowmen are about 4 inches high. The base is cut from white cardstock. the scarves, mittens, hats, vests, and sweaters are all from the Lilly Anna paper collection. I used copic markers for the faces and some of the buttons. The edges are lightly distressed with Beaux Arts Blue Palette Ink. And, last but not least, I also used the Stardust Glitter Pen on the noses and buttons.

Inspirational Tile Magnets

Craft Fair season is coming to an end! I have only one more show to go and it'll be a wrap for this year. The past six weeks have been hectic but exhilarating! I had two awesome shows, a few good ones, and one dud! The two awesome shows made a huge dent in my inventory so I have been busily making more in between shows.

One of my latest items for Craft Fairs are these 2"x2" Tile Magnets. The inspiration for creating these came from two very good friends - Ellie Jacobson and Christine Pennington!! Both of them make and sell a variety of tile art work too! So thank you for the nudge....

I call these my Inspirational Tile Magnets because I absolutely love these words! They are great on the fridge to hold messages, to do lists, photos, groceries, errands, or whatever. Use them at your office too!. They have a very strong magnet on the back and stick extremely well.

These words are from the Flourish Trees of Hope stamp set!!

The theme this time around is Holiday Cards and Tags in 10 minutes or less! Per Stacy, the theme says it all! The cards/tags must be assembled in 10 minutes or less, start to finish.

I love the tags that coordinate with our Soar With It Collections. Approximately 30 tags are included with each collection. For this blog, I used the Amelia Collection to make very simple gift tags. I stamped Bourdeux Palette Ink using both Holly Jolly Stamp Set and the Vintage Santa Stamp Set on the tags.

After adding a bit of cording I now have a uniuqe set of gift tags all set for the Christmas gifts!!

And have some fun blog hopping for other Holiday Cards and Tags that are made in 10 Minutes of Less!

Perky Penguins

Wow!! Three posts in one day - that's a record for me!! My first set of Copics arrived today and, of course, I just had to break them out and play a bit.

I made a set of notecards with the Perky Penguins stamp set. The coloring is my first attempt at using the Copics. And the trim on the hat sparkles after using the Stardust Glitter Pen!

I absolutely love these things called Copics! They are so easy to work with and the results were fantastic. Now I have to rearrange the budget to get some more sets!

Joy for Juilette

The Vintage Plum Embossing Powder goes so well with our Juliette Paper and Juliette Cardstock Collections!

This card is super easy to make. Start with cardstock and add a layer of coordinating designer paper. Emboss the Ornamental Joy stamp with the Plum Embossing Powder and add a couple more layers. Add the flower, brad, and scrappers floss and you are done!

The ladies in this Christmas Workshop were thrilled with this card!

I've been busy, busy, busy!! In early October I was at a quilt retreat for 5 days. It was "perfect" weather for sewing as it rained just about the entire time we were there!. One day it was raining sideways - the wind was that strong!

Then I have also been prepping for Craft Sales. My first two are done - one a great success and the other so, so! Now I have another half dozen or so to do for the remainder of the year! It certainly is Craft Sale and Craft Boutique Season!

This is my Felted Wool Coin Purse that is handstitched! It is my latest addition and I am in the process of making more in different colors.

I have been making table runners from Moda's "Peace on Earth" fabric collection. This is one of my favorites - I love the spiral effect. The shop includes 2 other table runners of different designs with this fabric collection. I am also making Ditty Bags with this collection too

So what is a Ditty Bag? This is a Ditty Bag! It is a small bag to carry whatever in your purse, tote, or backpack.

All Things of Nature is one of my all time favorite stamp sets! I also used one of the Edge Designs stamps to help frame the beautiful bird on this card!

The images are embossed with Versamark and Black Embossing Powder. The image is colored with Aqua Color Crayons! (I can hardly wait until October when we start carrying the Copic Pens for coloring!!)

Other supplies include the Amberly Grace Designer Paper and cardstock. I distressed the edges of the paper with sponges and Black Palette Noir Ink.

Penguins

Aren't these penguins adorable! This is the penguin from Wild for You! After stamping the first penguin (the one in the middle), I then used the masking technique to stamp the remainder.

The sentiment - You Are Friends - is from Linear Sentiments. I used a black Tombow Marker to ink up the words in the You Are Friends image, leaving off the lines above and below it.

The pink background paper is from Uptown Girl. The ribbon is from our Black and White Ribbon Collection. It is attached with a jewel brad. And, yes, there is some scrappers floss attached to the brad too!

My Hero Mini Album

I started this yesterday, 9/11, as a way of not forgetting the day that changed the course of America.

The album theme is My Hero! It is embellished with coordinating military die cuts associated with the Army. Die cuts included: Saluting Man, Stars, Eagles, Liberty Bell, Dog Tags, US Map, Convoy Truck, and Helmets. Phrases include: My Hero, Let Freedom Ring, and USA.

Photos go on the right hand side of each page. The left side has the die cuts and journaling boxes.

The key ingredients for this mini album are the Teabreak Chipboard Album, Just Like Dad Paper Collection, Navy Cardstock, and the Stand and Salute Cricut Cartridge.

I cut down the spine of the chipboard album to get individual pages. Then I bound it with the Bind-It-All, This allows the album to expand in thickness as embellishments, memorabilia, and photos are added.

I'm still stuck on pink and black today! This flamingo is one of our Exotic Birds! I colored the bird and greenery with H2O Pencils and the Tombow Blending Pen!

The greeting is from Label Lingo again - the fantastic Level D Hostess set!

Pink and Black Polka Dots

I am a conflicted crafter! I love paper and ink! And I love fabric! Each and every day I have to decide which medium to work with! Couldn't make up my mind today so played with both!

I played with fabric first and made this Quilted Pink and Black Polka Dot Ditty Bag. The Prairie Points (a.k.a. triangles) with the button add such a nice touch!

Then I pulled out the Uptown Girl Paper Collection and Toodle Loo Cardstock Collection to make this 3" x 3" gift card. The polka paper goes so well with the ditty bag! And Lingo Labels (Level D Hostess Set) was used for the sentiment. I used Black Noir Palette Ink and Transcendence Embossing Powder.

Put them together and you have a perfect gift for someone special!!

Yes, I know it is only Labor Day! However, Mr. Brown (aka UPS) delivered some stamps yesterday that were released in the fall Inspiration Avenue publication! I just couldn't resist playing with them tonight! The stamp is Vintage Santa. I used Burnt Umber Palette Ink and Transcendence Embossing Powder on the image and greeting. I colored the image with Aquacolor Crayons. And the paper - that's the Willoughby Paper and Cardstock Collection along with some Ivory Cardstock! Have a safe Labor Day Weekend! Have you ever tried to stamp on fabric? If not, give it a try as it is another possibility for your cards! This 3x3 card features the Rustic Chic paper collection from The Angel Company along with the Hats Off stamp set. I stamped the image with Burnt Umber and then used PrismaColor Pencils to color the image and shade the edges of the muslin fabric. The card is embellished with brads and the new Turquoise Scrappers Floss. And the new Corner Chomper does wonders in rounding corners through multiple layers of cardstock and paper - it's an awesome tool! A couple of years ago, I participated in a traveling paper-self round robin. We each created "ourselves" out of paper. Our paper self was then sent to each participant who took pictures of their environment and day-to-day activities with our Paper Self tagging along! It was a hoot! I found my Paper Self hiding out in one of my storage containers and thought I'd showcase her today!! She is fashioned out of Uptown Girl Paper, brads, buttons, scrappers floss, wiggly eyes, and gems! As you can see, the arms and legs move - I attached them to the body with brads! Later this week I am hosting a Birthday Card Stamp-A-Stack workshop! We will be making 3 each of 4 different cards for a total of 12 cards. I added a new twist to this stamp-a-stack - all cards are 3.75" x 8" - cards that fit a legal size envelope.

Rustic Chic is featured patterned paper for all of the cards.

The August Stamp Set, So Squirrely, plus Gerbera Daisy, and Inspirational Sayings are used on these two cards.

Super Sweet Puppy Dog

Well, I've been playing in the sewing room again!! And thus, this super sweet Puppy Dog came to life!

It is made of cuddly fleece and is stuffed with polyester crafters stuffing.

The eyes and nose are the kind that screw into a heavy plastic holder on the inside of the puppy - they aren't sewn or glued!

Sprigs!

This card was inspired by the Friday Challenge on SPCC. I haven't decided whether or not I it...but here it is!

This card has 3 stamping different techniques:

I used Tombow Markers on the Sprigs Stamp - green on the stems and pink on the flowers. Remember to "huff" on the stamp before stamping on the cardstock! (This restores any moisture that may have been lost during coloring the entire stamp,)
I used the 3rd Generation Stamping Technique on the greeting. To achieve this, stamp once, move the stamp slightly and stamp again and then move and stamp one more time!
The background stamping on the cardstock uses the stamping off technique. I inked the stamp with the marker, stamped on scratch paper once, then stamped a couple of times on the cardstock.

Other supplies for this 5" x5" square card includes Kraft Cardstock, DCWV Scalloped cardstock, scrappers floss and foam tape.

Another Beautiful Day - Mojo Monday

Although it is Friday, any day is a good day for Mojo Monday! I just finished my card based on their sketch and here it is!

The paper collection is Amberly Grace and the stamp set is Beautiful Day (you can find this stamp set in the spring Serendipity).

Notice the photo corner in the upper left hand corner of the card. I used foam tape to give the photo corner, the scallop, and the greeting a bit of a 3D effect! The bird and grass have a touch of AquaColor Crayons applied with a Tombow Blender Pen. And the paper is distressed with VersaMagic Hint of Pesto - it goes so well with the lower piece of patterned paper on the card!

Stacy over on Paperwings put together this fantastic Blog Hop for July. It is all about replenishing your card stash.! Thanks Stacy! I used the Lilly Anna Paper Collection for all of my cards and a variety of stamp sets. The first card features our new Sunday Stroll Set - it is simply adorable!

The green/blue tag on the background is from the sheet of tags that come with each our Soar With It Collections.

My second card used Tickled Pink - a fun, fun Flamingo stamp!

Holly Jolly Card

I've finished my cards for my Christmas in July workshop! Yeah! This is a quick and simple card - 2 pieces of designer paper, cardstock for the card and the stamped image, a couple of buttons, a bit of scrappers floss, and some ink! The card uses one of our new Purchase with Purchase Stamps: Holly Jolly. The paper is the Willoughby Designer Paper along with its coordinating Cardstock.

Three different VersaMagic Inks were used to create the stamped image: Jumbo Java, Red Brick, and Hint of Pesto.

The scoring around the brown cardstock and the light green stock was created with the new Scor-Bug Embosser - it is such a neat new tool to use with the Scor-Pal. I'm still getting used to it (if you look closely, you'll see a couple of oopsies on the card!)

And to finish it off, I used buttons from the Buttons & Blossoms with Scrappers Floss threaded through the holes.

This design is inspired by Mojo Monday #95. Check out the sketch for today on their site as well as all of the cards that have been submitted.

I choose this holiday theme because of all the "Christmas in July" sales and events that are being held here and there and every where! And in my part of the country, the stores are even starting to stock their shelves with holiday merchandise. It definetely is way to early to have Jingle Bells and Fa La La start running around in my head!

The paper, cardstock and ribbon are from the Amelia Collection. The stamp sets are Everyday Events and Date Disks! I've become hooked on Prisma Color Pencils and Odorless Mineral Spirits for coloring - this is how I colored in Santa!

This card has become a multi-purpose card! Don't you just love it when that happens!!

First, it is my card for the SP #5 Color Combo Challenge. Take a hop over to their site to see some fantastic cards made with similar colors!

Toodles is the stamp set that is featured on the front and back covers of The Angel Company's 2009-2010 catalogue (see the sidebar to the right). This is another image from that stamp set! I used Prismacolor Pencils, Mineral Spirits, and Blender Stumps to color the image. Then I added some sparkles with the Stardust Clear Gelly Pen! Did you notice the Scrapper's Floss too - it is such a versatile embellishment and comes in many colors!
The cardstock is DCWV white core cardstock. The 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock has been discontinued by the manufacturer. As a result, The Angel Company has discounted their remaining inventory at 25% off remainder. I used Pink 2 and Blue 2!!

Sunday Stroll jumped into my hands as I sat down to create a 4th of July Card. So why this one? Well... -The umbrella reminded me of the short, albeit, heavy rain storm that moved through here this afternoon! -The cap reminded me of baseball, America's most beloved sport! -The striped tie and shorts reminded me of the our our flag! -The set comes with a "happy happy birthday to you!" greeting - Happy Birthday America!! -Of course, I used red, white, and blue as the color scheme! -And, I used the Stardust Clear Gelly Pen to add touches of glitter (think fireworks) to the umbrella, cap, tie, and belt buckle.

The card was colored with our Lyra Aqua Color Crayons using the Tombow Blender Pen. For the paper I picked out the Cha Cha paper Collection and Scarlet Red cardstock. And once again, I finished it off with my favorite embellishment - Scrapper's Floss.

Beautiful Day

It's a Beautiful Day! It's in the 70's and the heat wave of last week is a distant memory. In honor of this wonderful day, I am posting a couple of cards that I made with our Beautiful Day stamp set. The card features the Hemingway Paper Collection and the greeting is from the Feline Fabulous stamp set. Here is a close up of the birds. I paper pieced these with scraps from the Hemingway collection. The grass and flowers are filled in with the Aqua Color Crayons using a Tombow Blender Pen. The new Angel Company catalog is out. I'm working on samples and will be posting new stamp sets in the near future. See the sidebar to the left for information on how to purchase one.

Stuffed Paper Teddy Bear

I created this Stuffed Paper Teddy Bear as part of the Home Decor Blog Hop on PaperWings!

You may recognize the plaid paper as part of the Toodle Loo Collection! The Teddy Bear is 8 inches high and 7 1/2 inches wide. I curled the antique copper wire so it can hang on the wall of a baby's room. This adorable Teddy Bear would also make a great Christmas Tree decoration using ribbon instead of the wire! After cutting out two bodies - one for the front and one for the back - I used a Micron Pen for the faux stitching around the body. Then I distressed it with Burnt Umber Palette Ink.
Then it was onto the face. Once again I used the Micro pen to add the eyes, nose, mouth, and eyebrows. The white highlights for the eyes and nose were created with the White Extreme Gel Pen to . At this point, I spread a light coat of modge podge to give the the paper a sheen. Once dry, I glued the front and back edges together with Zip Dry Paper Glue. I started with the lower body and once it was glued and set, I stuffed it lightly to give it a 3rd dimension (it's hard to see the raised effect of the stuffing on these pictures.) I then repeated this for the middle section and finally the head.

And for the finishing touches, I strung scrappers floss through 2 Topical Multi Colored Buttons and glued them to the middle body. Then I used Lemonade Blossoms and Buttons , and the scrappers floss to create the embellishment for the ear!
I learned a few things while making the Teddy Bear. First, The Gel Pen smeared slightly when I applied the modge podge. However, I also discoverd that the Micron pen covered it again so I didn't have to start over. Secondly, stuffing paper is different then stuffing fabric that's been sewn together! The trick, I believe is patience. That is, give the glue enough time to set well so it really adheres before stuffing it!

3 x 3 Card and Box

I started working on some more 3 x 3 cards as I have depleted my stash. I use them in gifts and also use them to add a little personal note to purschases from my ETSY store and other packages that I send out. They also make great hostess gifts, a just because gift, or just a little something to show your appreciation and friendship! This box and card use the Amberly Grace collection from The Angel Company and the Beautiful Day Stamp Set.For the 3x3 cards, I used our Mega and Giga Scalloped Punches. The flower was colored using Aqua Color Crayons and the Tombow Blender Pen. The flower is embellished with a Crystal Brad and floss!

Below is the top of the Box. It essentially uses the same technique as the card except it has 3 layers where the card only has 2. The same coloring technique is used along with the same embellishments. How do you get the floss to curl? Just wrap it around your stylus and you'll ge the nice curly effect!

And the last touch is the bow around the around the box cover! The ribbon is from the Amberly Grace collection too! Enjoy....

I'm fascinated with Acrylic Albums. It is a whole new scrapbooking challenge because you can see through one page to the next and to the next. It's lots of fun to plan and assemble.

The star of this album is my niece Ellie during her 1st year! Isn't she adorable? She's a very spirited young girl and keeps her mom and dad on their toes each and every day!
Here's the front cover. Notice the inside pages from this view - they contain tags, stamping, flowers, ribbon, and floss. The whole album is bound with Zutter's Bind-it-All and binding wire. (Did you know you can purchase the Bind-It-All for half price when you have a $100 workshop, a book party, or an order?)
Here the album is opened to a couple of the inside pages. The designer paper, cardstock, and tags are from the Lilly Anna Collection. The photos serve two purposes. First, of course, is to show off my niece! And, the second, is to serve as a pocket for the journaling tag that is tucked into it from either the top or the side.
Her name which is stamped with the FancyBet Alphabet . I used Moonlight White Brilliance Ink. Brilliance inks are perfect for stamping on vellum, acetate, photo paper, acrylic, and more.

Little Cupcake Matchbook Card

This Little Cupcake stamp set from The Angel Company is absolutely adorable with its cupcakes, cakes, candles, and birthday greetings! The Matchbook Card is made with the Miss Moxie paper collection.

The finer touches were created with scalloped punches, Tombow Gel Pen, Stickles, and Aqua Crayons. A Matchbook Card is made from a 4 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock. Score it at 4 5/8 and 10 inches. The Scor-Pal is great for this! The one inch end of the cardstock forms the flap to tuck the card top into! Finish off the flap by setting some jumbo eyelets and threading ribbon through them! Address and Event Organizer

I'm on another organization kick! This time I tackled my address book. I find that every year I need to rewrite all of the addresses as I change calendars/date books from year to year. So this year I decided to design something that would eliminate that annual chore. Additionally, I wanted something where I could keep track of birthdays, anniversaries, and other special events. The list I currently have is about to fall apart and it has way too many written entries. And I've been finding that this disorganization is a huge contributor to not getting my cards out on time or even at all!

So this is what I came up with. This address and event organizer has sections for each letter of the alphabet for addresses. And then there are also sections for each month of the year for all of those celebrations.

Now I have everything in one place. And my next challenge - to get everything transferred to the note cards! I have more than a few left!

The organizer uses Kraft Cardstock and the Rustic Chic Paper Collection. I used the All Occasion Lower Alphabet Set for the alphabet sections and the Date Disks for the months. Scrappers Floss and Burnt Umber Ink were used for the finishing touches.

Spring Fling Craft Boutique

I been busily crafting for a fantastic Spring Boutique that my friend Suzanne organizes! Boutwells Landing is a new, expansive retirement community near Stillwater (Minnesota). It's absolutely beautiful. There is an indoor restaurant, a small grocery store, a hairdresser, a barber, a chapel, a town hall meeting room, and a small library all wrapped around a beautiful courtyard!

25+ crafters have been busily making cards, jewelry, pot holders, table runners, stuffed toys, purses and totes, Easter Baskets, little girl dresses, baby outfits, journals, tooth fairy pillows, doll clothes, homemade hand lotion, adult bibs, soaps, bath salts, jewelry bags, earring holders and much, much more!

This cute rabbit will be one of my many creations at the boutique!

Spring Is Here

Although it is a dreary day, at least spring is here. The calendar says it is Spring. The snow is all but gone. And it was 60 this weekend (but in the low 40s today).

This foundation for this card is the Lilly Anna Collection. The Some Bunny stamp set, floss, and some layering complete the card.

And I want to thank Barb Foster for showing me how to make a 5 petal flower from a 6 petal punch. For this flower I used 2 different sized punches, distressed them a bit, and strung the floss through the center to complete the flower.

I'm getting ready for a couple of spring craft shows; thus, my absence from blogging. Not only do I like to stamp and scrap but I also quilt and sew. Here's one of my Bunny Creations that will go to the 1st craft show!

The background on the card is created by with the Scor-Pal and then sanded. This effect is obtained using white-core cardstock. The"ribbon" is created with the crimper. And the stamp set is our adorable Hoppy Day, a new stamp set in our Serendipity Magalogue recently released.

Toodle Loo Scraplings

Heather Scott posted a blog entry earlier this week featuring Scraplings. It motivated me to finally get my Toodle Loo Scraplings posted as I've had them made for awhile. Thanks Heather! I was initially inspired to make Scraplings after I read this article from Hero Arts. It is a great way to use up those scraps. Since then, I have seen posts where they are used for bookmarks, package embellishments, and notes of encouragement. The possibilities are endless! And, of course, Heather shows you how to make a card and scrapling set from the get-go! In short, start your scraplings with a strip of 1 1/4" x 8 1/2" cardstock. Score at 4 1/4" and fold. Then embellish with stamps, ribbons, floss, brads, and stamping. I used the Toodle Loo tags plus the Tag Tidbits stamp set for these. Notice the magnet on the inside bottom of the purple Toodle Loo Scraplings shown here. There is another magnet opposite to it on the front inside. These Scraplings will be used on baby gifts. I will slip it over the ribbon on the package and the magnets will keep it secure. It will add a nice, unique touch to the gift! Use the magnets also for bookmarks. Let your imagination run wild with this idea! Envelope Gift Card Holder

Although craft fairs are done, the other craziness of my life continues. I haven't been able to squeeze in blog updates for awhile so am taking advantage of a few quiet moments this morning (I'm sure it won't last long) to add one of my favorite Gift Card Holders.

My inspiration for this project came from Julie Hunt at Addicted 2 Stamping.

It is quick and simple and is perfect to package those gift cards for the holiday seasons. My holder features the Amberly Grace Paper Collection and the Christmas Circles stamp set from The Angel Company.

To make the gift card, start with a size A2 envelope. Fold it in half with the flap to the inside. Open it up and cut off the left side of the flap. Then add paper, stamps, ribbon, and other embellishments. The possibilities are endless! The gift card slips in under the flap on the right hand side!

Acrylic 6x6 Mini Album

Wow - its been a long time since I've posted! September was a crazy month. It was filled with an unexpected surgery for my son, an irksome, aching shoulder for myself, a quilting retreat, and preparation for both a big stamp convention and the 1st of 4 craft shows. Oh - and then there is the full time job too!! So, I'm super happy that I have found a little time today to update the blog once again!

This acyclic album is a delight to make. It is so fun to anticipate what is on the next page! The acrylic album brings another dimension and design to your scrapbooking skills because of the uniqueness of being able to see through the entire album.

For this album I used the Cha Cha paper collection, the 6x6 acrylic covers, the Bind-it-All, and white stazon. And these stamp sets are used in the album: Friendships Stripes, Affirmation Badges, and Curls and Swirls. Oh, and did I mention that this album was the winner in the Colorful Chaos Contest that The Angel Company sponsored for its demonstrators. I've already gotten my $75 free stamps!! What a way to build one's stamp inventory.

Photo Frames & Refrigerator Magnet from an Altered 3x3 Chipboard Album

The idea for this creation came from the 2007 Angel Company big summer get together to celebrate the end of one catalog year and the beginning of a brand new one!

Start with a 3x3 Mini Chipboard Album. Use a sharp knife, such as our Retractable Knife, to cut the spine of the mini album along the back. You get 2 photo frames from each mini album plus a single piece of chipboard. This single one becomes the refrigerator magnet.

The picture has all 3 items that I created from a single mini chipboard album. At the far left is the magnet - the bride is my lovely daughter!!. The middle (LOVE) is the front cover of one of the photo frames. And on the right is the inside of the 2nd photo album (a closer look will reveal my daughter and son-in-law's engagement pictures that I had the privilege of taking!).

I used our Miss Moxie Paper Collection and Lime Green Scrappers Floss (it comes in many colors and is one of my favorite embellishments) to make these gems!!

These are lovely gifts for friends and family. Be sure to make yourself a set too for your desk at work or for your stamping room at home!!

Purse Tote and Cards

I've been wanting to make one of these for awhile now. It's a Purse Tote and Cards. This one I made from the Bella Flora Paper Collection from The Angel Company. The stamps I used are Trendy Greetings and Treasure It. And did you notice the 3x3 gift card in the front pocket?

The purse tote can be made from designer paper as in the Bella Flora tote. The handles are secured with eyelets which also provide a means to add ribbon for a finishing touch to the front of the purse.

Squiggle LadyBugs and the ScorPal!

What do you get when you mix LadyBugs with the ScorPal, some white core stock paper, and a little bit of ink and aqua color crayons? Well, you get a LadyBug Card!!

This is one of the cards we made at my ScorPal Technique Night. The background uses the Raspberry white core paper (one of my favorites). It is cross hatched using the Scor Pal and then sanded to reveal the grid. The Squiggle Lady Bug was colored with the Tombow Marker and AquaCrayons. Ink the edges of the white strip, add a couple of brads, and adhere everything together! Its an easy and quick card to make with fantastic results!

-Two days - yes two days - of sunshine and temperatures in the 60's - no rain and no snow! yeah... spring might actually be here at long, long last

-A few nights of 7 - 8 hours of sleep - I was running on empty there for awhile

Flower Collage Trio and the Scor-Pal

This delightful card uses the Scor-Pal, Walnut Inks, Black Embossing Powder, and the Flower Collage Trio stamp set from The Angel Company.

The cardstock was first scored with the Scor-Pal a half inch from all sides and then sanded. This distressed effect is achieved using white core paper.

I sprayed Cherry Blossom Walnut Ink on a 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 piece of white card stock for the background effect. Then stamped the image using VersaMagic and Black Embossing Powder. The finishing touches included AquaColor Crayons, black cardstock for a mat, Antique Round Loops, and ribbon.

Easter M&M Candy Jars

These cute jars were inspired by Jenny Harvey. Jenny did hers in a Valentine's theme using red hot candies.

These use the pastel colored M&Ms that can be found around Easter time. The mini hex jars are from specialtybottle.com.

Use Date Disks from The Angel Company on the lid to highlight the day being celebrated. The sides of the jars are stamped with Brilliance Ink. Add some ribbons and tags and you have a delightful addition to that Easter Basket!!

Make these for holidays, birthdays, and other special events. They are a quick and fun project to make.

Mimi Gatefold Card and the Scor-Pal

I've been playing with the Scor-Pal today along with one of my favorite paper collections: Mimi. Did you know that the Scor-Pal is marked at both 2 1/8" and 6 3/8" - the exact measurements that you need for a Gatefold?

The flower is from the StarBurst Florals stamp set. After the flower was stamped with Palette Burnt Umber on Ivory cardstock, I used the Stardust Glittering Gelly Role Pens to color in the flower.

And for the final touches I highlighted the flower with a Grey Tombow Maker and strung Mimi Ribbon through a Nickel Loopy Brad.

This will be one of the projects at a FunShop later this week. Do you think the guests will like it?

Here's the cover and a couple of pages from the mini album that I have been working on that features my niece.

The patterned paper is from The Angel Company's Catelynne Paper Collection. The stamps are from the Love Doodles , This Girl , and Swirly Bet sets.

The Album Covers and pages were cut on the Cricut using the Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More Cartridge.

Altered Tins

January has gone by super fast and it has been super cold too!! We are elated here in the Midwest that we might actually get above zero tomorrow!! That's warm for us given the past couple of weeks!!

I made these tins as a Shoebox Swap for the MidWinter Magic Angelette Event this last weekend. We had good food, good company, and almost 40 fantastic projects to work on Friday evening and Saturday.

The tins feature Uptown Girl paper, Bazzill Cardstock, and Love Doodles stamp set. Open the covers and you will see that each is stuffed with candy for Valentine's Day. Enjoy making yours!!

Chipboard Tag/Chain for Tote

Let your imagination fly when making this easy Chipboard Tag with Chain. Hang them on your stamping and scrapbooking totes. Use them on backpacks for easy identification and fun statements. Put them on you luggage too! They are fun for all ages.

To make these, use Chipboard Chips of any size. Cut paper the size of the chipboard. I used Versamark and Black Embossing Powder to stamp the word "Escape." Then I distressed the edges with Noir Black Palette Ink.

The hole for the chain was made with the very versatile Crop-A-Dile.

Valentine Nugget Tin and More

My last post was a Valentine's Card made from the Angel Company's Mimi Paper and Love Doodles stamp set. I have expanded on that and now have a few more items using the same paper and stamps.

The Nugget Tin is a favorite of mine - but then it has chocolate in it so naturally it is a favorite!!

The mini album is made from a single sheet of cardstock and is then embellished with Mimi paper and stamps and tags. The mini album has a front and back cover, 4 inside pages to scrap, and a pocket to store extra photos. My niece and nephew are the stars of the album!!

I also made a cute little 3x3 gift card to round off the collection.

Hmmm... wonder what I'll add in the future?

Grandpa's Pemberley Bay Matchbook Album

The Angel Company's new Pemberley Bay Matchbook Kit contains the perfect papers for your heritage photos. This matchbook kit coordinates well with the Hem ingway Collection. The brown, beige, turquoise, and gold palette make for elegant mini-albums. Use the matching tags and tabs that are included in the kit along with Hemingway hard ware and ribbon!

The upper left photo is the cover. Grandpa (Remembrance Stamp Set) is stamped with Burnt Umber and is nestled in the vines and leaves of the front cover.

The mini-album includes photos of my grandfather as a baby, the family photo with his mother and father (who immigrated to the United States from Germany in the 1890's), his World War I photo, engagement photo to my grandma, photos of my mom and aunt when they were little, and the 6 grandchildren.

The photos and tabs are layered on brown cardstock. The Hemingway ribbon and eyelets round out the mini album.

I love this min-album - its content and its colors. Now I just have to be patient until tomorrow when I can place an order for more kits, as well as, the Rockin' Roxie Matchbook Kit which is a vibrant mixture of reds, yellows, greens, and purples.

A Guy Card - African Giraffe

I needed a guy card for our monthly Angelette card swap. So it was time to dig through the stamps and find one suitable for a guy. And this is the result: the African Giraffe from The Angel Company stamped on DCWV cardstock (brown and tan) with Versamagic chalk ink (wheat or java).

Inky Friends Magnet

I found these wooden magnets at Ikea - love that store. Using Black Stazon and the Simple Bet stamp set, I stamped my Team Name, Inky Friends, on the magnets. Then I used Mustard Stazon to color in the wings and lightly sponged with Cactus Green Stazon.

Shhh! Don't tell my downline but I mailed one of these to each of them today!

A Collection of Merry Wishes

We certainly have had our fair share of snow in Minnesota these last few days. It snowed all day Sunday, then again on Tuesday, Christmas Day, and this morning it was snowing again. It has let up for the moment but the skies are grey and cloudy and more of the white stuff is in the forecast. All in all, it is much better than last year's brown Christmas!!
